Debossed business cards

Logo or text pressed into the board without ink — a recess you can see and feel, shifting tone with the light. On white board combined with full-colour print, on coloured board with white or tone-on-tone gloss print. 100 pcs from €82 including the die (excl. VAT). Upload your own file or order a design. Sizes and quantities

Three sizes: 90×50 mm, the European standard 85×55 mm and a 55×55 mm square, all at the same price. Quantities from 100 to 500 pcs. Larger runs on request.

Debossing

The image is pressed into the board with a metal die, one card at a time. The recess is about 0.3 mm deep and shows faintly as a raised relief on the back — design the back with that in mind or keep the debossed area free on the back. Debossing is front only. Embossing (image raised above the surface) is available on request.

The die is made from your design and costs €35. On a repeat order with the same design the die fee is not charged again.

Papers

• Uncoated matt board 340 g – thick uncoated board, debossing shows most clearly here. Design printed in full colour on both sides.
• Coated silk board 300 g – coated surface, softer impression. Design printed in full colour on both sides.
• Blue 300 g, green 320 g, light brown 300 g, black 380 g, red 320 g – solid-dyed uncoated boards. Printed in white or in glossy toner matching the paper tone (spot-varnish effect), debossing on top. Thicker board gives a deeper impression; black 380 g is best for it.

Soft touch lamination is available on all papers and keeps the debossed edges clean. Corners can be rounded.

File

Debossing needs its own layer: add a second page to the PDF with the pressed area in 100% black and everything else white. Vector artwork, text outlined. Lines at least 0.3 mm, type at least 8 pt, at least 3 mm between the pressed area and the trim edge. Large solid areas do not work — debossing is at its best on a logo, a monogram or a single line of text. Templates are under the Templates tab above.

Lead time

The die is made separately and adds 2–3 working days. Cards are ready in 5–6 working days.

Several names in one order

Debossing is usually on the logo, so one die serves all names. Each name is still a separate product: add the first card to the cart and make the next, or send a quote request and we make one offer.
