Wire-O bound document

Wire-O binding is a twin-loop metal wire pressed through the punched sheets. The document opens flat and the pages turn a full circle, but unlike a plastic coil the spine stays straight and even. It is the most presentable of the lay-flat bindings – right for price lists, presentation material, desk calendars, menus and annual reports.

Formats and extent

Choose A4 (210×297 mm), A5 (148×210 mm) or A6 (105×148 mm), 8 to 160 pages and runs from one to 300 copies. The calculator picks the wire diameter from the block thickness. We use 3:1 pitch, which gives a dense punch and a clean page turn.

Binding edge

Bind along the left edge or the top edge. Top binding suits desk calendars and notepads that flip upwards. The price is the same either way.

Cover options

• Printed Silk 250 g – your artwork front and back. The cheapest and most common choice.
• Printed board 250 g – a stiffer cover that holds its shape better.
• Printed 100% recycled fibre paper 250 g – Nautilus Classic, matt and natural in tone. Right when the environmental message is part of the brand.
• Matt clear plastic cover – the title page shows through, the surface is satin and does not take fingerprints.
• Crystal clear plastic cover – thicker and fully transparent, the most durable option.
• Plastic front, board back – the classic combination for manuals and training material.
• No cover – up to 48 pages, the cheapest option.

Papers

Inside pages on coated Silk and Gloss 115, 130 and 150 g, or uncoated and 100% recycled fibre papers 80, 100 and 120 g. For workbooks and anything written on, choose uncoated – pen does not smudge and the surface does not glare.

Wire-O or coil

Both open flat. Wire-O looks more formal and keeps the spine straight; coil costs less and takes more handling. Above 160 pages, use coil binding or perfect binding.
